Beyond adventure race

Beyond Adventure Race Creeslough in Co.Donegal has been developed to bring a positive beacon of HOPE and INSPIRATION to a community devastated in recent tragic events. Our mission through the power of sport and nature is to help unite and rebuild confidence in the village and it’s people.

The two event distances, are a mix of trail running, road cycling, and a mountain hike up Muckish Mountain.
Each course are fully sign posted and each athlete wears a timing chip recording your overall time. All finishers will receive a very special Beyond Adventure Race Creeslough Medal and a bite of warm food at the finish line.

  • Bicycle helmet.
  • Bike rear flashing light (on at all times)

Road bike is best – all bike sections are on tarred roads and you must wear a helmet and have a working rear flashing light on at all times.
Your bike must be fully functional with good brakes and tyres.

Starting out from transition 1 at Wild Atlantic camp you will complete a short 2.5km trail run in your trail running gear (runners-shorts-jersey) – returning to Transition 1 and onto your road bike, you can either change in transition 1 into cycling shoes (but remember to carry your runners in a backpack as you’ll need for the Muckish  mountain section again) At transition 2 located at the bottom of Muckish mountain you will drop your bike, change footwear and carry your mandatory kit and some food and drinks with maybe an extra warm jersey to wear to and from the summit. Returning from the mountain summit section you travel by bike all down hill to Wild Atlantic camp at Transition 1 – rack your bike and complete the short 2.5km run to the welcoming finish.
